Bridgestone

Bridgestone is the official tyre supplier to the FIA Formula One World Championship for the 2008 season, supplying competitive rubber to all eleven teams on the grid. Bridgestone’s partnership with Red Bull Racing has been in place for two consecutive seasons and looks set to continue until at least 2010 in line with the company’s tenure as sole tyre supplier.

Bridgestone has been involved in Formula 1 since 1997, with the company’s F1 activities operated by Bridgestone Motorsport based in the UK. The design and production of Formula 1 tyres takes place at the Technical Centre in Tokyo, with tyres shipped to the UK for distribution to European tests and races.

Formula 1 provides a global stage for Bridgestone, its technology and expertise, but away from the grands prix, there is much more to the company’s business. Bridgestone Corporation is now the world’s largest manufacturer of rubber products and tyres for cars, motorcycles, trucks and buses and employs over 132,000 people worldwide.
